Essential oils need to be treated with respect as they are very powerful and concentrated. Make sure you research all possible reactions and interactions before using essential oils.

You should dilute all essential oils with a carrier oil, such as sweet almond oil, prior to skin use. Complete a patch test to ensure you are not sensitive/allergic to an essential oil. Generally, essential oils should be avoided if you are pregnant and some can be toxic during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or suffering from any medical condition, consult a health practitioner before use.

Some essential oils are phototoxic, mainly citrus essential oils. Use caution if you use this oil with a carrier oil to apply to the skin. Dilute properly using an essential oil book or other professional reference source to avoid photosensitisation. Do not expose the treated skin to the sun for at least 12 hours after an application. Be sure to wear protective clothing and sunscreen to block out UV light.

Keep essential oils out of reach of children and pets. Do not ingest or use essential oils internally.
